How to start learning web development: a practical beginner plan
A simple path through HTML, CSS and JavaScript, with a small project and testing habits.

Start with one small goal instead of trying to learn everything at once.
1. Understand the page
HTML structures headings, paragraphs, images and links. Create an introduction page, save it and open it in your browser.
2. Make it readable
CSS controls colours, spacing and layout. Test your page at narrow and wide screen sizes and check that no text overflows.
3. Add a little interaction
JavaScript can open a menu or validate a form. Learn each step rather than copying a large project you cannot debug.
4. Build and test a project
Try a shop page or a task list. Write down three requirements, implement them and ask someone to test. Read error messages and isolate problems.
5. Publish carefully
A file on your computer is not automatically public. Choose hosting, publish a simple version and check links and mobile layout. Never put passwords or customer data in public files.
